D & K Motorcycle Center in Bountiful, Utah

Took my 300 XC-W to D & K for a top and bottom engine repair and rebuild. Because of D & K’s careful attention to detail, after they disassembled the engine case, they discovered a broken retaining lip in the case that keeps a bearing from sliding back and forth. The engine case was an expensive part to replace; however, D & K treated me very well on the cost of parts. I had this same engine rebuilt by another shop in the Salt Lake valley just 14 months prior to D & K disassembling it and this other shop totally botched the job. D & K had to repair stuff that was done incorrectly by this other shop. Because of the poor quality workmanship of this other shop, I ended up having to spend a total of $4,300 on two engine rebuilds in a 14 month period. D & K expertly fixed all issues caused by the other shop. In fact, the two experiences with the two shops couldn’t be more different. When I got the bike back from the other shop, the engine immediately leaked oil out of nearly every seam where there is a gasket. I’ve had the back from D & K now for two months and over the two months I’ve ridden it steadily on slow-going single track and to date there is absolutely NO OIL seapage whatsoever. That’s a testimony to their careful attention to detail. It’s like a brand new engine from the factory.
